ŚAŹGUR PADDI ŚAŚĆAMBI RA' PFIŚINŚI AKIDDI

Identification & Currency (Ituhśińvit ki Śiq)

Agency-issued identification comes in the form of an "identification stick" (ituhśińvibbi ra' dan), a short, flat, rectangular device designed to be held in the pocket or, optionally, on a lanyard of some sort. It comes only in the imperial red. On each of its ends are caps, one of which has the troll's personal symbol stamped on its face, and both of which can be unlocked and thus detached from the stick by a 360° twisting motion. The blank cap covers a fingerprick poking out of the ID stick's chassis and is referred to as the "input", whereas the opposite end with the symbol cap is referred to as the "output" and has a specialized needle tip similar, to but not exactly like, a hypodermic needle.

A troll has their ID stick provided to them before their first employment at the latest. To register one's self with the stick, the finger is pricked with the input end while the device is unregistered; thereupon an LED on the main body of the ID stick will light up green and stay that way so long as the device is registered to an individual. ID sticks can only be refitted for another registrant by certain high-ranking executors in the Troll Resources office, and only at terminals outfitted for the operation.

The output end of the identification stick is used at any device that requires authorization by ID. These can be doors leading to restricted areas, vehicles, workstations of any kind, tools, weapons, and personal electronics like computers and phones. The imperial currency is called the rishah (riśah, literally "face"), abbreviated as Rs, and is a digital currency where the banking and transactional information is tied to the identification data of an individual. In this way, the ID stick also works as the device used to carry out transactions both face-to-face and online.

Permission for restricted devices and areas is given in the form of injections which introduce microscopic storage devices, referred to as keys, into the bloodstream. When inserting the output end into a device, the individual's blood is checked for which keys are present in the bloodstream. If they have a key paired with the permission group's private key, then they are let in; otherwise, they are denied access. Upon receiving a permissions update, individuals are expected to prick their finger once more to update the contents of their ID stick.
